Last week, news came out that Save The Dates were sent out to the heads of Europe’s royal families. Eck! Stationery designer excitement the world over, right?! Are they fun? Are they formal? Is there a photo? A website? Is it this adorably quirky postcard?
The answer to this question was something NO ONE expected. The Save The Date for Kate & Will’s nuptials was a FAX. Yes, you heard me, and then I heard you say “Do people still send faxes?!” — The Queen of England does!
Stationers all over died a little I think. ::sigh::
HOWEVER, it is reported that handwritten, gold embossed invitations for 1800 guests are in the works and will be sent out in a couple of weeks. YEA! While I’m guessing the Save The Date fascimilie was the Queen’s doing, the responses coming into the couple’s website was most certainly the bride and groom’s doing. How modern!
