So to start out this year, I am starting a segment called Tools of the Trade. It could be things I use in my own studio, things that make design life easier, make me a better designer, make me a better business woman, or things that I dream about having in my studio.
Today I am dedicating this post to the guy who keeps things moving around here… sorry, hubby – not you, this time.
Its my 2006 15” Mac Book Pro.
I’ve had this computer since 2006, and these are my modest stats:
Hardware Overview:
Model Name: MacBook Pro 15″
Model Identifier: MacBookPro1,1
Processor Name: Intel Core Duo
Processor Speed: 2.16 GHz
Memory: 2 GB
I’ve upgraded a few things over the years, more RAM, new battery and run OS X 10.5.8, but by far my favorite feature, and why I probably won’t upgrade computers for a while is the MATTE SCREEN. — Call me resistant to change, but I love this screen and I’m keeping it as long as I can. My desk is next to a window with great south-facing light and a shiny screen would probably blind me.
I’m starting 2011 with a big THANK YOU to my trusty MacBook Pro laptop for keeping things running around here, and supporting all the external devices I load it with – additional monitor, two printers, external hard drive, speakers, media card reader, funky ergonomic mouse, wireless keyboard, scanner
What piece of equipment is your unsung hero? either at home or in your own office?
